At this week’s auction held by Heritage Auctions, unknown buyer splashed out US $100,000 for the license plate “GG-300” that were on the car in which US president John F. Kennedy was assassinated on 22nd November, 1963. After the assassination in Dallas limousine was moved to Cincinnati in the firm Hess & Eisenhardt, where it was equipped with additional safety features. During the modification one unknown FBI agent discarded the yellow plates for trash. Owner of the company, Willard C. Hess, took tables and save. He iterally kept them on the shelf before passing them on to his daughter Jane Walker, who kept them in a drawer in her kitchen. She recently consigned them to Heritage Auctions in Dallas.

The starting price at the auction is or was $ 40,000. The price rose to $75,000 on Internet bidding before live bidding began. The buyer – who was present for the auction — was said by Heritage to be an ardent Kennedy collector who wishes to remain anonymous.
The limo itself was in use until 1967, and is now exhibited at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.
