Clients of BUBEN&ZORWEG typically list security concerns as a high priority when selecting or customising a BUBEN&ZORWEG masterpiece. But, says company director Christian Zorweg, a boy-like playfulness is a universal and fundamental character trait that unites them all. So, they have used that love for boy’s toys that has nothing to do with age, geography or personality to create world-class luxury safes.
Nominated for the 2015 German Design Award, BUBEN&ZORWEG safes are designed to house watches, gold bars, guns, art works and other collectibles. From bullet-proof, fire-resistant, explosion-proof two-way mirror glass, to laser curtains comprising a web of invisible laser beams that set off an alarm as soon as sensors spot anyone in their vicinity, a slew of surprise design features imbue the owner with a constant sense he is playing the starring role in his own imagined secret agent movie.
Take for example, hidden switches on the X-007 EXTREME in places only the user will know, which trigger the safe to rise from its holding and light up. Or a secret drawer revealed at the touch of a hid-den button on the MAGNUM. Or the secret button on the TITAN that reveals 18 additional sumptuous watch winders,
providing a special place for the most treasured watches in a collection. Meanwhile, each BUBEN&ZORWEG safe has been VdS tested – VdS is a rigorous German certification testing system involving endurance tests by engineers using heavy machinery, power drills and flame throwers to simulate arson, malicious attacks and brute force, ensuring that anyone other than the owner doesn’t stand a chance of opening a BUBEN&ZORWEG safe.
Ensuring complete peace of mind, BUBEN&ZORWEG can now incorporate cutting edge GPS tracking technology into most masterpieces in its repertoire, informing collectors of the exact location of the safe should it ever be moved. An international sim card means any object can be traced worldwide wherever there is GSM coverage. A new alarm system by BUBEN&ZORWEG can also be connected to a home alarm system and the owner’s mobile phone.“
BUBEN&ZORWEG has a two-decade long tradition of enabling men to savour and safeguard their most treasured possessions. Our clients may not be secret agents, but they sure love knowing they own some Boy’s Toys that James Bond himself might even covet,” says BUBEN&ZORWEG founder and director Christian Zorweg.
