America’s most expensive home is back on the market and the builder of the Le Palais Royal in Hillsboro Beach, Florida has jacked up the price. Modeled after the Palace of Versailles in France, the beachfront mansion was originally listed for $139 million in 2014, but was taken off the market about a year later, and has been listed again for an asking price of $159 million.
The main home is completed and the second phase, which includes two guest houses, a pool and entertainment complex that will house an ice-skating rink, a go-kart track, a nightclub and a bowling alley are under construction. Construction on this second phase will be completed in about two years, said Joseph Leone, the project manager who has overseen the home’s construction, adding that the total cost of building the estate is over $100 million.
Designed and inspired by fashion dynast Joseph Leone and in-house architect Denio Madera Design, every detail, including the construction techniques and infrastructure, has been taken into account on this palatial project. The property is owned by Robert Pereira, founder of construction firm Middlesex Corp.
