Once again Kelly Wearstler conveys her Midas touch to a bespoke vanity box for high-end skincare brand La Mer. American designer known for her use of natural and organic elements for everything from furniture to fine jewelry, was approached by the beauty brand to create a limited-edition box for the launch of its Genaissance de la Mer serum. It’s the first time the two have worked together.
Genaissance de la Mer serum is an age-transcending serum essence that was inspired by a scientist at the Max Huber Research Labs who discovered crystals forming in a beaker of Miracle Broth. Extraordinarily pure, the Crystal Miracle Broth is slow-crafted in extremely small batches to reach its ultimate potency. This advanced broth infuses skin with the life-generating energies of the sea, helping it visibly renew from within. It is meant to rejuvenate and renew; think the Fountain of Youth in a bottle.
However, the box itself – in true Wearstler form – mixes several materials, including walnut wood for the box and a bronze lid affixed atop with a crystal. Twenty five of the boxes are available for sale in the U.S. and were made in Wearstler’s studio in Los Angeles. They retail for $1,200 and are being sold exclusively via the La Mer Web site.
