Each of them was crafted by a Vancouver glass-blower, and fitted with an ivory pendant carved from a 35,000-year-old mammoth tusk.

As for the beer inside, it’s a special brew produced by Storm Brewing owner James Walton, who is often referred to as the “mad scientist” of the B.C. craft beer scene. he froze the beer into one big, solid ice cube at -30 degrees Celsius, a process that took him about a month to complete. Walton says the ice that formed let him pull out all the water from the brew, leaving behind nothing but concentrated beer.

It was then aged in French oak barrels for two years until it was ready. He says the final product came out tasting quite sweet, almost like a port, with alcohol content of nearly 25 per cent, up from the usual 11 per cent.
Walton’s 400-litre batch are available from Dec. 4, with 100 litres of the brew in his pricey bottles, and the remainder for $80 a litre.
