Swiss watchmaking brand, Jaquet Droz celebrates femininity and fashion, with their wonderful Lady 8 Flower Collection, which is a true reflection of their artistic design and art. This very feminine Lady 8 watch, like most Jaquet Droz pieces, comprises two superimposed circles resembling the numeral eight: these represent harmony, perfection, and infinity. Within the larger case sits the dial’s centerpiece – delicate butterfly with wings outspread.
Depending on the version (there are two), the Lady 8 Flower’s butterfly is either painted and engraved in translucent red enamel over guilloche or set with blue sapphires against a backdrop of snow-set diamonds.
On the blue version, there are 151 baguette-cut diamonds, 383 brilliant-cut diamonds and 54 blue sapphires, with total carat weight of 6.31 carats, while the red version features 18-carat red gold case set with 114 diamonds (1.43 carats).
The upper circle contains a lotus flower blooming within a sapphire crystal dome.
Both the watch’s self-winding mechanism (with a 38-hour power reserve) and that of the animation are revealed through a crystal caseback.
Only 28 of the red-gold and 8 of the white-gold pieces have been produced – each priced at $157,500 and $262,500, respectively.
