The global industry leader design magazine, Interior Design has selected Cenote Spa, part of The Grand Hyatt Playa Del Carmen as winner of the Best of Year 2015 project award. Designed by the Sordo Madaleno Group, this 6,000 square-foot spa is renowned for its originality, concept and innovation. Cenotes are an important geological feature found in the Yucatan Peninsula that are believed by Maya people to cleanse and purify the soul.
Cenote Spa captures the serenity and beauty of these iconic freshwater sinkholes in its design through a combination of intricate stonework detail, dramatic lighting and soothing textures. The impressive Cenote-shaped architecture of the facility invites guests to experience true relaxation and boasts subdued tones, a rich color palate, tall ceilings and natural décor to complement the vibrant green of the surrounding protected mangrove jungle.
The spa offers an array of signature services, inspired by Maya culture, and features eight treatment rooms and specialty facilities including hydrotherapy stations, a eucalyptus steam room, fiber optic chromotherapy showers, a replicated Cenote relaxation area and spacious fitness center.
Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort and Cenote Spa opened along the iconic Mamitas Beach, in the heart of vibrant Playa del Carmen, on June 15, 2015.
