Titanic will again sail the seas. The new ship, a replica of the old, will be four meters wider than the original to meet the necessary security measures of the 21st century. Unlike the original model, Titanic 2 will have a sufficient number of lifeboats together with systems for evacuation. It will possess a digital navigation system and a digital radar system, satellite monitoring and other equipment representing the latest technology.
New luxury vessel will have nine floors, 840 cabins for 2,400 passengers and 900 crew members, a swimming pool, Turkish baths and a gym.
The ship will be 270 meters long, 53 meters wide, a weight of 40,000 tons. There will be tickets for the first, second and third class.
Titanic 2 will set sail in 2018 from the east Chinese province of Jiangsu to Dubai unlike its predecessor, which was headed from Southampton to New York.
The original Titanic sank on its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic Ocean in 1912 when it struck an iceberg. The accident has killed more than 1,500 passengers and crew.
The construction of the new version of the Titanic was financed by Australian billionaire Clive Palmer and his company “Blue Star Line”.
