Urwerk has successfully continued its tradition of making the usual unusual watches. Their latest limited edition, unveiled at SIHH 2016 is UR-105 T-Rex and its design will leave you speechless. At first glance, this watch looks like an alien organism that has mysteriously reached the ground. The dial is designed to resemble the scales of reptiles and at first glance you look hard to notice that it is actually a watch.
The oyster-shaped case with the hand patinated work is made of bronze whereas the caseback in constructed of black PVD titanium. Inside, there’s the Swiss self-winding Urwerk mechanism which has 52 jewels and the possibility of backup power for 48 hours. On the back of the clock can be seen and mechanical turbine that controls the winding hours, while a sapphire crystal further enhances the features of the accessory.
The dial is made so that in a simple mode shows minutes and hours. The numbers that rotate represent the hours and scale with minutes is on the lower side of the dial. Although, the Urwerk UR-105 T-Rex displays only the hours and the minute, this modern timepiece needs to be appreciated for its technical prowess and utter time-reading simplicity. The watch is limited to only 22 pieces, priced at 65,000 Swiss Francs.
