Heesen Yachts is attending the Dubai International Boat Show from March 1-5, the leading event of its kind in the Middle Eastern calendar, where will be displayed its newly launched superyacht Asya before the arrival of her sistership Ruya in 2017. Delivered in 2015, Asya is the second vessel in the restyled 47m class by Heesen Yachts, with exterior design created by renowned Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Her styling brings together elegant traditional lines with contemporary flair; a fusion emphasised by the use of continuous windows and matching black paintwork on the main deck and upper decks.
The restyling incorporates an important improvement in the housing of the rescue tender in an enclosed bay in front of the wheelhouse – a great achievement considering ASYA is under the 500GT threshold. Another notable design change includes the crew accommodation, which complies with LY3 regulation.
Interiors, designed by Bannenberg & Rowell can be described as sophisticated with a distinctly Far Eastern flair, inspired by the designs of Dieter Rams, Frank Lloyd-Wright and Tadao Ando.
Asya is powered by two MTU8V 4000 M63 diesel engines and her well-engineered steel hull with bulbous bow allow for smooth passage. She has a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots of cruising speed.
You can see the 47 metre superyacht for yourself this week at the Dubai International Boat Show.
