Viceroy Hotel Group’s newest property Hotel Zeppelin San Francisco has opened its doors. Set in an historic building, two blocks from Union Square, Hotel Zeppelin is a progressive hideaway that reflects the heart and soul of the City by the Bay. Owned by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust and operated by Viceroy Hotel Group, the 196-room hotel marks the fourth partnership between the two companies and follows the opening of another San Francisco property, Hotel Zetta in the SoMa district.
Designed by Dawson Design Associates, the hotel experience was created for SF artists, writers, poets, and musicians who broke the rules and changed the world. While the hotel is socially vivid, luxury guestrooms and suites offer a contemporary respite.
Design accents include spontaneous black light exposed poetry, which expands upon the hotel’s psychedelic theme and pays tribute to the bookstores and cafés of the beatnik era. Guestrooms are appointed with eclectic furnishings and unusual amenities, such as vintage inspired record players in select rooms.
A variety of room types are available, including a 1,800-sq.-ft. presidential suite with a wet bar, media room and outdoor deck.
The hotel features a street level café, bar and lounge offering artisan quality food and drinks. Downstairs, the 1,300-sq.-ft. game room entitled Peace provides games of skeeball; shuffleboard; an oversized electronic Bingo board synced with a dynamic sound system; a quick-shot basketball wall; and communal areas.
“With careful consideration poured into each and every detail, Hotel Zeppelin is the ultimate celebration of San Francisco’s long and storied counter-culture tradition,” said Hotel Zeppelin GM Antonio Flores. “Our provocative design and rebellious nature promotes the non-conformist experience San Francisco has been patiently waiting for.”
