Cara Delevingne returned to the fashion world as the new face of the Chanel Eyewear campaign for Spring 2016. As the work of Karl Lagerfeld, Cara, who announced her leaving the fashion profession last year, returned to the world and re-worked with the famous French fashion designer. The 23-year-old British fashion star demonstrates both spectacles and sunglasses in the ads while rocking hats and tweed jackets from the French fashion house’s Ready-to-Wear collection.
Some of the styles Cara presented are well-known Chanel details, such as the quilted pattern and decorated details. The $525 Shield Runway’s quilted pattern laser-engraved on the lenses is a nod to Chanel’s signature design element. The $350 cat eye Signature sunglasses frame the face of The Suicide Squad actress perfectly. The range also includes eyewear from the tie-dye-inspired Plein Soleil and camellia-decorated Bijou collections.
When asked why she changed her decision in regard to career change, Cara said: “As time passed, I realized that work and approval of other people are not the most important thing in the world.”
