When it comes to classic motorcycles, one of the brands whose designs are known for high prices is the British Vincent Motorcycles. The company no longer exists, but its two-wheelers were the stars of many auctions worldwide. One such star, Vincent “red” White Shadow Series C from 1951, is the hero of our today’s story. The famous British auction house Bonhams has offered this model for sale, in January this year. At an auction held in Las Vegas, this bike was sold for $434,000.
One of the reasons why this motorcycle was sold at such a high price is the fact that it is a unique specimen, dressed in “Chinese Red” color. The whole, White Shadow, series have had only 15 units. Vincent Series C has had one more variant, Black Shadow, and between 1949 and 1952 it was produced 1,507 copies.
Before he went under the hammer, Vincent “red” White Shadow Series C from 1951 received a certificate of authenticity, at 200 pages.
