Empress Elisabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph I. once traveled their realm in their own imperial and royal court saloon train built in 1891 – from Bad Ischl to the seaside resort of Abbazia (present-day Opatija) on the Adriatic coast. The Majestic Imperator Train de Luxe is now on sale for € 8,9 million ($10 million). Built according to original plans the seven carriages with a total of 239 seats (197 dining seats, 42 salon seats) offer a unique experience to the enthusiastic and sophisticated traveler.
The train consisting of 7 carriages (Salon I, Excelsior, Equipage, Ambassador, Elisabeth, Fourgon, Franz Josef) as well as 2 spare carriages (they can be refurbished for operation or be used as spare parts). Each of these carriages with its exclusive original design offers the highest comfort, safety and the most luxurious flair of any operating train in the world.
