A Southern California landmark located in Palm Springs is up for sale. Bond fans will recognize it. The 8,900-square-foot property known as the Elrod house was designed by John Lautner and was the location for the 1971 James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. The 1.62 acre estate is actually composed of a two-bedroom main house and a two-bedroom guest house equipped with maid’s quarters and was built in 1969 for interior designer Arthur Elrod on a rocky hillside about a mile away from downtown.

The heart of the home is its circular living room, which is topped by a concrete dome, with retractable glass walls and overlooks the Coachella Valley, giving the exterior a UFO-like appearance. Below the living room is the pool deck, which seems to float over the valley.
The asking price of the home is $10.5 million.
