For travelers who want only the best, East Japan Railway Co. (JR East) plans to launch their own cruise train Train Suite Shiki-Shima on May 1, 2017 with a fare approaching a whopping 1 million yen ($9,200). The Train Suite Shiki-shima (“The Four Seasons Island”) is designed under the concept of “Golden Experience”. There deluxe suites and 2 decks connected more than 17 rooms inside the train which consists of 10 cars with capacity up to 34 people. Other areas of this train are divided into dining room, lounge.
And there will also be Dome Car with the open roof for you to look at the sceneries around on all sides.
The most extravagant travel plan will be a tree-night/four-day excursion in the opulent Shiki-shima suite which starts at Ueno (Tokyo) and travel far north as Noboribetsu, Hokkaido at a cost of 950,000 yen per passenger.
