Home to breathtaking countryside, magnificent beaches, sun kissed shores and fascinating culture, the Peloponnese is a fabled region that has become one of the most exclusive and sought-after destinations in Europe. On its northeastern shores, lies the greater Porto Heli area, including the islands of Hydra and Spetses, also known as the “Cote d’Azur” of the Eastern Mediterranean.
This tranquil seaside escape -only a few hours flight from Europe’s capital cities and just a twenty five minute helicopter or two hour car ride from Athens- is home to Amanzoe Resort and Villas, arguably the most upscale development in South Eastern Mediterranean at the moment . Cradled among centuries old olive groves, the Villas feature exceptional design by leading architect Ed Tuttle and boast breathtaking panoramic views of the glittering Aegean Sea and awe-inspiring countryside and vineyards. Branded by Amanresorts, the Villas are intimate and discreet and synonymous with impeccable service and understated elegance.
They all have access to a stunning private beach in a secluded cove, and benefit from access to a range of outdoor activities and high security. But, the newest addition to the property, Villa 20, manages to blow all of that out to sea.
Sprawling across four acres on a hillside overlooking The Aegean Sea, Villa 220 unfolds across six levels, each cascading down the hillside, which allows 360-degree views from every room. Featuring nine guestrooms, several living and dining areas, seven marble-lined pools (three of which are en suite), a gym, yoga terrace and spa with hammam, the villa is pretty much its own little commune in Porto Heli. Down on the shore, the Beach Cabana provides a tenth suite and private pool, as well as direct – and exclusive – beach access for villa guests.
Throughout the palatial accommodations, every touch is designed to emphasize indoor-outdoor living, allowing guests to connect with nature. Textured materials, like stone, concrete, and wood, bring the outside in, while earth-toned fabrics and contemporary furniture provide luxurious comfort.
In addittion to the main living space with a fireplace and extensive library, there are numerous other gathering places throughout the property, including an outdoor barbecue grill, a tavern space, and 20-seat outdoor dining table where the villa’s full-time staff of ten, including a chef, can serve a private meal.
As the Amanzoe’s most lavish accommodation, Villa 20 is also its most expensive, starting at around $16,896 a night.
