In 1997, the first Grand Prix de Monaco Historique was created to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the reign of the Grimaldi dynasty. As official timekeeper and sponsor since 2002, Chopard has created a collection of exceptional chronographs paying tribute to the competition. To celebrate its partnership with the classic car event, and also to celebrate the tenth edition of the same, Chopard brand designed and introduced two beautiful chronograph inspired by races, which will be produced in a very limited edition.
The first is the Ref. 168570-3002, or the charming timer that has titanium and stainless steel case, sapphire crystal and back a screwed caseback engraved with the Automobile Club de Monaco logo secured with specially designed screws that are reminiscent of bolts.
As part of a series of only 500 pieces, this timepiece has Chopard Swiss automatic movement with 25 jewels, frequency of 28,800 vph and power reserve of 46 hours. His silver-toned dial and Barenia gray leather strap with orange stitching, beautiful finishing details that emphasize its magical beauty.
On the other hand, Ref. 161294-5001, will adorn just 100 hands. It has 18-carat white gold case, with details that are similar to the previous version. However, we have to mention that he has a crown of 18-carat pink gold and base of the same material with gray inserts.
The mechanism of the second model is the same as in the first, while the strap Barenia strap this time has blue stitching. It is offered with a blue-gray Nato strap, both of which come with a buckle in 18-carat pink gold. The question is: who would you choose?
