This Summer, Louis Vuitton brings us the Escale Spin Time. As the name suggests, new watch is actually combination of brand’s Tambour Spin Time GMT introduced in 2010 and the Escale watch which was launched in 2014. The watch is recognizable for its hand-painted colorful dial, which is inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic trunks. The dial features spinning cubes at the indices.
The current hour is indicated by the hour on a cube (shown in 24-hour format, meaning “8” or “20” for instance), while the other hours cubes display hand-painted nautical flags. Each cube has four faces, two for the hour numerals and another two with nautical flags. Minutes, on the other hand, are indicated by a white-tipped arrow.
The Escale Spin time measures 41mm in diameter and is 11.2mm thick. It uses the automatic calibre LV77, produced by LV’s in-house manufacture, La Fabrique du Temps. It has a 42-hour power reserve, and is water-resistant to 30m.
Is bezel, lugs and crown in either 18k white or pink gold, the case band is in titanium and watch comes with a gray alligator strap.
