Moonstone is a new project of Oceanco: 90 meters long luxury mega-yacht, which is currently just a concept. Developed in cooperation with Van Geest Design, the yacht is styled with a striking multi-faceted hull that makes a continuous play of light and reflections from the water. The theme of light continues throughout Moonstone, and Van Geest has been working with lighting design company Temeloy to create “visually emotional effects throughout the yacht”.
“The visual play starts with custom hull panel lights that are triggered by 300 individually dimmable white triangles each side to create unlimited lighting possibilities. At night, these lights generate a shimmering and twinkling effect. This is supplemented by an overhead panel with a backlit surface linked to fish-eye cameras that can capture the magic of a night sky, a sunset or a sunrise. In the signature pool aft, and in the sundeck hot-tub, dimmable lights have also been employed.
Further external lights play with the waterline of the yacht. The LED hull light panels are self-sufficient with the use of 70 square metres of solar panels, with a day of sunlight giving three hours’ continuous use.
With a unique hull sides, this amazing concept yacht has elegant lines and incredible precision.
It is designed to be PYC-compatible, and so offers enough space for more than 12 guests on their decks, an infinity pool with dimmable lights, a hot tub, cinema and a touch-and-go helipad to ferry the owner and guests between the nearest airport and sea. She has a projected top speed of 18.5 knots.
