The Macallan and Lalique are delighted to present the sixth and final masterpiece from their prestigious The Macallan in Lalique Six Pillars Collection, distributed by Maxxium UK. The final decanter in this global sell out collection, The Macallan in Lalique Peerless Spirit, according to the distillery, is a 65-year-old whisky which is easily one of the oldest ever released by this prestigious outfit. The whisky is not only a true testament to the skill of each and every one of our craftsmen but it also pays homage to The Macallan’s commitment to creating beautiful whiskies through the tireless and obsessive sourcing, nurturing and maturing of our supreme spirit in exceptional oak casks.
As is with any release like this, a big portion of the overall sticker shock comes from the bottle itself. Once again The Macallan has turned to legendary French crystal house Lalique for one wow of a container. It is said the decanter’s overall design “was heavily influenced by the blown and pinched technique as used by René Lalique for many of his famed Lalique perfume bottles.”
The exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks, rich flavor and beautiful natural color all come together to deliver the distinctive character and quality that and has helped make The Macallan one of the most precious single malt whiskies in the world.
Only 450 individuals will be able to snatch up a bottle of this 46.3% ABV Scotch which will likely end up as a collectible dusty on a shelf for many.
