Every Montblanc Limited Edition tells its own individual story and glorifies the artist whom is dedicated. In the same way is honored Russian-born artist Wassily Kandinsky with two limited edition pens, the first limited to only 3 pieces and other limited to only 77 pieces. Montblanc brought Kandinsky’s work to life in every detail of the pens. The Homage to Wassily Kandinsky Limited Edition 3 captures his unique visual language in the use of shapes and colours to create the skeletonised Au 750 solid white gold cap and barrel.
This expression of abstract ideals is skilfully adorned with an array of precious gemstones, including blue sapphires, rubies and yellow sapphires. Diamonds and dark blue sapphires are set on the cone. Limited to only 3 pieces, each writing instrument is crowned with the Montblanc Diamond surrounded by two rows of diamonds.
Another version, The Homage to Wassily Kandinsky Limited Edition 77 captures his unique visual language in the use of shapes and colours: skeletonised cap design inspired by Kandinsky’s abstract, geometric style, slanted cap top reveals Montblanc emblem beneath sapphire glass dome, clip inspired by his famous work Yellow-Red-Blue, signature in black lacquer on the cap, cone shaped like the onion domes of Moscow, precious lacquer barrel reflects early works with dark colours and short brush strokes, cap and fittings made of Au 750 solid gold, handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib engraved with his K signature, forepart engraved with typical geometric shapes from his works. This pen is limited to 77 pieces in reference to Kandinsky’s age.
