The creation of a beautiful object often starts with nature, and this Vertu’s latest expression of timeless elegance is no exception. Called Aster Leaf, Vertu’s new phone is created in collaboration with designer Carina Sohl, who brought together Vertu’s two distinctive styles of craftsmanship into one classic piece. This edition brings aniline leather to the Vertu range for the first time.
High quality and soft to the touch, it is one of the most natural looking leathers available and is enhanced further by Carina’s craftmanship. She is painstaking in her artistic process from start to finish. She begins by handpicking the wild natural plants from the countryside, selecting the best rasberry leaves to work from that together create a harmonious pattern. These are then pressed with several pieces of leather for eight hours on a large press.
Following this, the leaves are carefully removed, leaving the pattern of their small delicate intertwining veins embossed into the leather. During this part of the process the leaves are destroyed, ensuring your Vertu will be completely unique. The natural beauty of the plants is preserved forever in the soft leather, like a fingerprint of nature.
Taking inspiration from Carina, Vertu has engraved the metalwork of the phone with a similar leaf pattern, so the beautiful design echoes throughout each piece. The phone comes with a matching purse-style leather case, also embossed with Carina’s design, and five exclusive nature-inspired wallpapers. Aster Leaf is limited to only 100 unique pieces.
