The Tri-Axial Tourbillon represents a major success for Girard-Perregaux, a historic specialist in the mastery of this precision watch mechanism. For 2016, a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer prepared darker version of the legendary watch that combine sharp design with innovative artisanship such as a high-speed tourbillon on three separate axes.
This year’s edition features 48mm titanium case with sapphire crystal case-back.
On the side of the case at 9 o’clock, a sapphire crystal window gives the opportunity to admire the spectacular mechanism as well as bring light inside the movement.
The sapphire crystal is made of two glass pieces in order to form a dome at 9 o’clock that highlights and protects the triple-axis tourbillon cage.
Purpose of a tri-axial tourbillon is to reduce errors of rate by addressing the changes in the vertical and horizontal positions. The watch is powered by the Girard-Perreagaux Caliber GP09300-0002 and has 60 hours of power reserve. The watch comes on hand-stitched black alligator strap with titanium triple folding buckle.
