Borve Lodge Estate is located along some of the most magnificent coastline on the western Scottish Island of Harris. The Lodge was first built in the 1860s, but has recently undergone a complete renovation with the intent to preserve traditional features, while introducing all modern amenities. The Lodge sleeps up to 14 guests in 9 bedrooms, and is well equipped for discerning visitors.

A lot of consideration has been given to an integrated interior design*, presented in a rich marriage of colours, fabrics and items that are classic with a contemporary twist. Each bedroom is thematically designed and named after the some of the Lodge’s previous owners, and some current illustrious personalities.
The Lodge’s two premier properties are The Broch and The Rock House. The Broch has commanding views over Borve Valley, and the Atlantic and is modelled on the iron age fort, within which a contemporary dwelling has been made.

And The Rock House appears as a cluster of standing stones, nestled within its own rock garden, overlooking the Atlantic. The interiors of both houses have been kept as elemental and simple as possible, with extensive use of stone, wood and driftwood from the estate. But within this simplicity, there is true comfort and every modern convenience needed for a self-catering holiday.

Lodge guests can adopt all the facilities that would be enjoyed by the family when they are in residence, including sole fishing rights over the estate fishery. Visitors are spoilt for choice when it comes to other estate activities on offer: deer stalking, sea fishing, lobster potting, trips to the Estate-owned island of Taransay, walked-up Grouse, Snipe and Woodcock shooting, photography expeditions, wildlife watching or hill walking.
