New luxury condominium project 150 Rivington – a new development rising at the site of the former Streit’s Matzo Factory – is bringing four expansive three-bedroom penthouses to the Lower East Side. Featuring soaring ceilings of 12’9’’, the penthouse residences offer custom kitchens, Italian, custom-made translucent sliding-glass doors by Rimadesio, and smart home technology that allows for temperature, lighting, and audio control through a single device.
Dual outdoor spaces in each apartment include a private terrace directly off the living room, and a private rooftop with gas grill – both of which offer amazing views of New York City.
The building has a total of 45 units, ranging from one-bedroom residences to four three-bedroom penthouses. The penthouses will start at $3.8 million. The building features a sophisticated lobby with a 24-hour attended lobby, superintendent and porter services, a package room, cold storage, bicycle storage, fitness center and more than 12,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor.
Developer Cogswell Lee and architectural firm GLUCK+ expect to complete construction in the first quarter of 2018.
The Lower East Side was identified this year by London-based real estate consultancy Knight Frank as one of three hot neighborhoods around the world to pay attention to, along with Pimlico in London and Chiyoda in Tokyo. Knight Frank cited the New York City neighborhood’s new infrastructure, amenities and restaurants, among other factors.
