A rare Boba Fett figure, from the late 1970s, has sold for a staggering £26,040 at auction. A rocket-firing Boba Fett prototype figure, just 3.75in (9.5cm) high in its original box smashed its estimated sale price of £4,000-£5,000. It is one of around 700 items the seller has put on sale on Teesside across two days. The entire lot, which was amassed over 40 years from around the world, is expected to bring in around £500,000.
Kathy Taylor, a valuer at Vectis Auctions in Thornaby, Teesside, said there had been interest from across the world in the build-up to the auction.
In January 2015, another Boba Fett figure – costing £1.50 when it was released 35 years earlier – was sold by Vectis for £18,000.
