The creative team from Zaha Hadid Design has revealed a bathroom concept for Porcelanosa derived from the motif of water – the ‘origin of life’. Called Vitae, this project appears as an integral bathroom collection meant to arise as the new bathroom design. It was the first such collection to be designed by the acclaimed architect, and one of the last projects she completed before her sudden death at the age of 65 in March.
Vitae includes brassware, sanitaryware, a bathtub, mirrors, and a toilet, each embodying dynamic, fluid shapes with a sensual personality. In the spirit of using liquid to define the arrangement of space, the collection makes use of the element of water to show both the purity and soft lines of its shapes. Furthermore, the series of design objects offers the bathroom a new role in the home by turning it into a private retreat intended for relaxation, renovation and the purification of the body.
The range begins at £3,000 for the taps, while the full price list will be announced on August 15, ahead of its release in September.
