Ten rare, limited production Corvettes from one private collector wil be offered by Dan Kruse Classics, one of the world’s premier boutique collector car auction houses, at its 42nd Annual Hill Country Classic auction. Corvette’s journey from its roots to its legendary show car sophistication takes center stage as this very rare collection of Corvette models will be offered for the very first time in the 200 plus car auction.
Highlights of the Hill Country Classic auction will include eight rare special limited production Corvettes produced in 2009 – The Competition Sport Edition and the GT1 Championship Edition are among the highlights. Only 72 Competition Sport Package Corvettes were produced. This collection includes 1 of 39 in Blade Silver Coupes and 1 of 10 Black Z06’s. The GT1 Championship Edition was built to commemorate the ten years of Corvette Racing’s successful run in the American Le Mans series. Three versions of the GT1 were available, “Coupe,” “Convertible” or “Z06.” The only two colors available were Velocity Yellow or Black and only 125 of 600 were built. The collection offered at this auction include an outstanding 6 of them. These include 2 of 38 Z06s in Velocity Yellow, 2 of 17 Black Z06s, 1 of 7 Black Convertibles and 1 of 10 Velocity Yellow Convertibles.
In 2009, Corvette also debuted the 200+ mile ZR1 supercar Corvette which included the LS9 6.2 liter supercharged engine producing 638 horsepower. It was the fastest ever Corvette produced by the company. Dan Kruse Classics will offer a 2009 Black Corvette ZR1 SC L159 and a 2010 Corvette ZR1 SC L159 in Yellow with only seven miles on her odometer from this extremely desirable production run.
All of the Corvettes in the collection have very low original mileage, having not been driven since purchased for the collection. Mileage numbers range from 7 miles to 265 miles, with most of the Corvettes only registering miles in the teens or low 20s as they were never driven by the private collector.
