You have one billion euros in cash? This is the right house for you. A huge property in the south of France was declared the most expensive property in the world and is now on sale. Known by the name Les Cedres, the former home of the Belgian King Leopold II, has been offered for €1billion (£860million). The house with 10 rooms, a large swimming pool, one of the most impressive gardens in the world with almost 15,000 plants and 20 greenhouses with rare tropical specimens was built in 1830. The massive villa offers an incredible view of the ocean and nearby is Nice.

The estate belonged to the Grand Marnier dynasty and its current owner is successor Suzanne Marnier-Lapostolle who apparently decided to sell it because of the economic crisis that has hit France, which has also affected her company that has reaped a fortune on the eponymous liquor.
Some fifteen professional gardeners are currently employed by her full time, and she hopes all will be kept on.
Real estate agents say they have not received instructions to sell, but added that such estates mainly sold discreetly.
