Ok, the rich people can spend their money on whatever they want, but this? Don’t kidding me! Barneys New York is selling distressed shoes, wrapped with duct tape and scuff marks, that look about eight years old, for $585 (£450).
The shoe is made by a brand called SuperStar of the US. The style features “retro silhouettes and signature distressing techniques to create effortlessly cool sneakers,” according to the “About Golden Goose” section on the Barneys website. What we can see are shoes inspired by the homeless.
On Saturday, @fergnerduson tweeted a photo of the pink shoes and said “wait one minute.” The tweet was retweeted over 8,000 times as multiple people commented on the shoes.
If you’re thinking about buying these, please consider giving to charity instead.
