Two years ago, John Easley, Carbon6’s founder and lead designer, lost his wedding ring. After going through a series of replacements, he realized there was nothing on the market that fit what he was looking for. As an engineer and designer, he needed something that would be safe while working with machinery and electricity. And he wanted something that would be comfortable, beautiful, and meaningful. When he couldn’t find a ring that fit his criteria, he decided to make his own.
Carbon 6 Hand Forged Carbon Fiber Rings
After trying out various materials, he found that carbon fiber had the strength and durability he was looking for. Carbon fiber’s light weight also made it great for comfort. The hang-up was that he didn’t want a ring that had the weave pattern typically seen in carbon fiber products. However, with some research he found that Lamborghini had developed a process for forming carbon fiber into three-dimensional shapes to create high-performance parts for their luxury sports cars. Because the process involves using heat and pressure to mold the material, they were calling it “Forged Carbon Fiber.”
Using this as inspiration, he set out to create his own process for molding carbon fiber and make the perfect ring. The result is the Carbon6 Carbon ring—strong, light, and striking, the ring is both durable and beautiful—the perfect symbol for a meaningful relationship. And because Forged Carbon Fiber is strong but not bendable, it creates a safer ring, since it shatters under extreme pressure rather than bending out of shape and cutting off circulation.

From there, Carbon6 has created new collections and ring designs, sometimes pairing the Carbon ring with additional elements—such as a glowing interior or precious metal—and sometimes using different materials entirely, as with the collection of Damascus steel rings. However, with every design, each Carbon6 ring is designed and made in accordance with the three company’s ideals: strength, comfort, and beauty. That’s why every Carbon6 ring features signature comfort-fit interior, a more pronounced comfort fit than is found in most rings, which not only makes Carbon6 rings feel better but also makes them less likely to get stuck on the hand.
