The Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos in Rovaniemi, Finland recently posted a job advertisement seeking the person whose only job would be to stay awake at nights in order to spot the Northern Lights! Night spotter should be looking at the sky and wake up guests when he saw that Northern Lights appear. This is directly related to one of the perks of staying at the Arctic SnowHotel: they offer what they call a Northern Lights Alarm. They describe the service as follows:
“Enormously increase your chance of spotting the legendary Northern Lights by using the Aurora Alarm service. The glass igloos are fitted with the Aurora Alarm service that immediately sounds an alarm to the igloos when the northern lights can be seen in the sky. When staying overnight in SnowHotel, the Aurora Alarm service gently wakes up guests to admire the wondrous Northern Lights. SnowHotel guests need to order the service separately from the hotel reception. The Aurora Alarm service is included in the accommodation rate and no extra fee will be charged for using the service. The Arctic SnowHotel Aurora Alarm service operates during the winter season between the times 11:30 pm. – 6.30 a.m.”
