Mercedes’ sports model AMG GT had a promotion in the form of a Coupe at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, first in two versions (base Mercedes-AMG GT with 462hpand more powerful version of AMG GT S with 510hp). Meanwhile appeared and Mercedes-AMG GT R which was officially inaugurated in June at an event Goodwood Festival of Speed. As a reminder, Mercedes-AMG GT R is powered by 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 engine with 585hp and 700 Nm of torque.
However, the long-awaited version of the Roadster with soft folding roof is coming. One masked copy was caught more recently during the tests and are now in front of us and its first official photos and video clip as an announcement of its imminent promotion at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. Sales, however, will begin next year.
In short, Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster is powered by 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with 476hp and 630 Nm (in conjunction with the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox), acceleration to 100 km/h takes 4.0 seconds and top speed is 302 km/h.
There will be a more powerful version of the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster with 557hp and 680 Nm, which is 47hp more than GT S Coupe version and 28hp less than GT R Coupe variant.
When talking about acceleration and top speed, Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster will reach 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and can achieve a maximum of 316 km/h.
It should be noted that the soft top folds in 11 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h (available are usually red, black and beige roof), and that the car is characterized by a wider rear fenders, alloy wheels of 19 and 20 inches, adjustable suspension, electronis LSD differential, AMG performance exhaust system, and a system of active steering rear wheels.
Prices haven’t yet been release, but German media estimate that the GT Roadster with 476hp will cost about 140,000 euros and the GT C Roadster of some 165,000 euros.
