New York is about to get two new celebrities. George and Amal Clooney are soon-to-be Manhattanites, since some unidentified “sources” argue that George and Amal Clooney have purchased luxury apartment there. The Academy Award-winning actor and his human-rights attorney wife, have chose apartment in Aby Rosen’s new Norman Foster-designed building, One Hundred East Fifty Third Street, for their newest base.
Apartments in the development, which is under construction and scheduled to be completed next year, range from $2.6 million to $65 million for the two-floor penthouse, which the Clooneys did not purchase. They reportedly toured the penthouse – a 6,760-square-foot duplex with four bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, wrap around city views – but reportedly opted for a smaller, less expensive unit on one of the 63-story building’s higher floors.
This opulent building is perfect for the celeb couple. Some of the amenities that they’ll have access to include a fine-dining restaurant by French chef Joël Robuchon on the first two levels of the building, a 60-foot sunlit swimming pool, sauna and steam room, yoga room, pilates rooms, library, and a “dedicated lifestyle manager.”
