For more than 270 years, Moët & Chandon has been known and loved as the champagne of success, boldness and dazzling style. Today, Moët & Chandon pushes the boundaries with a completely new champagne that galvanizes the Maison’s pioneering spirit and brings to life its celebrated values in a never-before-seen way. With MCIII, Moët & Chandon enters into the highest echelon of champagne prestige cuvées. The wine itself comes from three parcels of wine that have been matured in stainless steel, oak and glass then blended. It’s also multi-vintage.
The complex recipe reads as such: about one third of the 2003 vintage (of which half is chardonnay and pinot noir), then around one third is three vintages (2002, 2000, 1999), the other approximate third is 1999, 1998, 1993 vintages of Moet Grand Vintage disgorged from the cellar. The ‘001.14’ references the first batch, disgorged in 2014. It allegedly took 15 years of experiments to get this wine to market.
The uncommonly refined personality of MCIII lies in this strikingly pioneering blend, which renders the characteristics of each of the assembled wines even bolder and more forceful. Moët & Chandon captures the supreme attributes of each aging environment to craft a remarkable champagne, a trilogy of ideally balanced diversity.
The result, A champagne that boasts the perfect equilibrium of harmony and complexity, the House’s statement of the ultimate in tasting pleasure, an undeniably sumptuous, exclusive experience. The Moët & Chandon MCIII Brut 001.14 can be purchased at Moët & Chandon.
