Philippe Starck has unveiled the design of a near full-screen ceramic smartphone called ‘Mi MIX’ for Chinese electronics company Xiaomi. Xiami Mi MIX is an ultra thin smartphone that combines advanced technology to bring you an unparalleled experience. The device couples design and digital thinking, pushing visual and technological boundaries to ensure an easy grip experience and optimize listening.
Designed for user, Mi MIX features a sleek 6.4-inch body made entirely of ceramic and free of bezels on three sides. That makes for a screen-to-body ratio of 91.3 percent, the highest on any smartphone to date.
Just like a piece of polished ceramic, the smooth and elegant case of this phone has no edges nor corners, singularity to its disruptive appearance. It means that the use surface has no constraint, no buttons, no loudspeakers.
The sound is transported through vibrations thanks to piezoelectric ceramic technology.
Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone makers in China, where the Mi Mix is expected to go on sale on 4 November 2016.
