This stately mega mansion, dubbed Chelster Hall, is located at 1150 Lakeshore Road East in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. It is one of the largest private residences in Canada and right now Canada’s most expensive home, priced at $65 million.
Chelster Hall is owned by Hugo Powell, the retired CEO of the Belgian brewing comapny Interbrew, who had originally planned for the home to be a whopping 55,000 square feet (making it the same size as the White House), but opposition from his neighbors forced him to scale it down to 47,000 square feet of living space.
The mansion sits on 10 acres on the shores of Lake Ontario with grounds that boast 6 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a private chapel, a two-storey library, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, home theatre, tennis court, chapel, gatehouse and a boathouse.
Hugo and Tracy Powell have decided to start a new chapter in their lives and allow a new owner to continue the story of their beloved Chelster Hall Estate.
