This villa in Venice, a beach town in the Los Angeles metropolitan area is the work of architect Mario Romano and takes its cues from the movement of the ocean. It is called the Wave House, and features fluid living spaces and carved surfaces that are meant to mimic organic geometries found in nature. This two-storey residence has a “skin” made of white aluminum and cedar. Its structure creates a harmonious environment in combination with the exterior and easy, you will immediately notice it.
The rippling character of the exterior is carried indoors, with textured surfaces being deployed in certain rooms.
“Walls and floors are lyrical and like nature, without any repetition, bringing the landscape environment inside the home,” said the designer.
One of the qualities that we can immediately notice – the large front door, made of planks for skateboard – truly unique. Other notable features include a cozy family room with a vista of the lot’s immense lawn, a swimming pool as well as an outdoor theatre that spans 11,000-square-feet.
