A duplex penthouse in a landmarked SoHo cast-iron building returned to the market Monday, with an asking price of $15.995 million, a $2 million price cut from when it was first listed in February.
The owner is hotel mogul Ed Scheetz (Chelsea Hotels in New York, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas), has listed the 4,189-square-foot Soho apartment for which he paid $10 million in 2008. He completely renovated it with the help of Kara Mann Design.

Now the entire loft-style residence features 14-foot ceilings, wide-plank dark hickory floors, custom-designed casement doors and windows, three wood-burning fireplaces and hardware crafted by the Nanz Company.
The penthouse occupies half of the top floor in the seven-story building, which was built as a warehouse in 1915 and converted to a condominium in 2000. The building was designated a landmark in 1973.

Its been a rocky few years for Scheetz, who purchased the penthouse on Greene Street between Grand and Canal streets in the wake of the overdose death of his girlfriend in his Las Vegas apartment. Scheetz also recently bucked his ownership stake in the Chelsea Hotel, despite renaming his King & Grove brand of hotels after the well-known West 23rd Street establishment.
