Patek Philippe is regarded by many as one of the best watch manufacturers in history. The watchmaker’s history dates back over 175 years and is filled with innovation and creativity, so it’s no surprise that Patek Philippe watches, especially if belonged to Eric Clapton causes great interest. Three Patek Philippe timepieces from the collection of Eric Clapton found new owners at Phillips Hong Kong Watch Auction: Three, held on November 29. All three watches have only had one owner and have never before appeared at auction.
Lot 1009 – Patek Philippe Reference 3970G – an extremely fine and important white gold perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch with moon phases, 24 hours, leap year indicator, special salmon tachymetre dial, Breguet numeral at 12 o’clock, original certificate, additional case back and fitted presentation box. It is sold for HK$3,560,000 (US$458,500).
Lot 1010 – Patek Philippe Reference 3970R is also an extremely fine and important pink gold perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch with moon phases, but in pink gold and with special silvered tachymetre dial. Other specification is the same as previous model. This one was sold for HK$2,000,000 (US$257,600).
Lot 1011 – Patek Philippe Reference 5004R is also pink gold perpetual calendar split seconds chronograph wristwatch but with special black tachymetre dial, while the rest is the same as on other two models. And, it find its buyer for HK$3,140,000 (US$404,400).
