This is the future of gaming. Multi-functional, connected, battle bots with augmented reality capabilities. Reach Robotics’ MekaMon might just be the most fun and accessible robot on the market. Leveraging augmented reality, anyone interested in a good time can whip out their smartphone to battle their bots in the physical and virtual worlds at the same time.
New robot MekaMon moves like a spider and battles like a Call of Duty robot drone.
Each MekaMon robot runs off a 1200mAh, 11.1V 3 cell lithium battery that communicates with your smartphone via Bluetooth LE. It boasts 4x Infra-Red transceivers and internal hardware heath monitoring. The MekaMon’s four legs also feature 3 degrees of freedom that facilitate the robot’s complex motion. They’re controlled via smartphone and with the virtual battlefield at your fingertips, you and your opponents can fight with missiles and lasers. You can also fight virtual opponents as well if you’d like.
You can either purchase a single robot for $279 or go all out with the Ultimate Battle Pack edition for $499. The first 500 MekaMon will ship in a “limited edition” on January 2017, and then will be available for general sale in June of next year. It’s available for preorder now.
