If you imagine a perfect vacation while reading a book, then this Portuguese hotel should be found on your list of dream destinations.
Hotel “The Literary Man” in Obidos is home to 45,000 books, each of which is available to guests. They are found everywhere in the hotel – in the bedrooms, bars, restaurants and areas for relaxation.
Hotel opened last October and the owner’s goal is to collect 100,000 books until 2017. Books include different genres – from history and poetry, and fiction to cookery, which means that everyone will be able to find something for itself.
The only problem that book lovers could have is that they probably won’t want to separate from the hotel and go on a tour of this cute town.
Obidos is one of the most picturesque towns of Portugal, more than 700 years old. It is located 50 kilometers north of Lisbon, in the region Centro. All its inhabitants like to read, and proof of this is the church of Saint Santiago from the 13th century, filled with books, which today is called “Grande Livraria de Santiago”.
Last year in December, UNESCO declared Obidos for “City of Literature”.
