Next month, Mecum Auctions will offer for sale the last produced copy of the Buick GNX (Grand National Experimental), where it is expected that the car will change the owner for the sum of $175,000 to $250,000.
So far this GNX had two owners, and despite it is nearly three decades old, the car has only 68 miles (109 km) on its odometer.
Of course, the vehicle is in excellent condition, and we are talking about the last – 547. from the series of 547 pieces made.
The car was created with cooperation with companies Buick American Sunroof Corporation and McLaren Specialty Products, and under the hood is a 3.8-liter V6 engine with McLaren turbocharger and Garrett intercooler.
The engine officially disposed 206 kW/276hp and 488 Nm, but it is reliably known that in reality had more power than what is written in the specifications.
Thus, the American magazine Road & Track wrote in June 1987 that it is a 224 kW/300 hp and 569 Nm.
The car has among others the wider wheel arches (front and air vents), modified suspension (also McLaren) and a set of unique alloy wheels of 16 inches.
