Audemars Piguet has released a new take on one of its most popular model, the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar. The latest iteration now comes full in ceramic. Not steel or any precious metal, but rather matte black, brushed ceramic! The octagonal perpetual calendar now boasts a matte black brushed ceramic case, alongside a ceramic bracelet to match.
The case is 41mm in diameter, just like the standard model, but the finishing of the case and bracelet takes significantly more time than for the steel or gold equivalent. While a steel model takes some six hours to machine, polish and put together, the ceramic version takes 30 hours.

To match the ceramic case, the dial is a dark grey with black sub-dials, decorated with the chequerboard grande tapisserie guilloche that’s synonymous with the Royal Oak.
As far as technical details go, the new watch will sport the Royal Oak Perpetual Calender’s typical 5134. Expect it later this year (SFr85,000) and reference number here is 26579CE.OO.1225CE.01.
