In early 2013, a palatial manor previously owned by businessman and former Texas Rangers owner Tom Hicks hit the market, priced at a whopping $135 million. Now, this truly irreplaceable estate with 27,000 square feet of living space on a 25.25-acre lot, called Walnut Place can be yours for $48.9 million.
The estate, better known as the Crespi-Hicks Estate, was designed by Maurice Fatio in 1939 for Italian Count Pio Crespi and his wife Florence, and was recently renovated and expanded by architect Peter Marino. The height of the home is said to exceed current municipal height restrictions, this allows for 14′ ceilings on the first floor, and 12′ ceilings on the second.

In addition to the main house there is also a two-storey guest house and a three-storey pool house. There is a total of 10 bedrooms and 17 bathrooms.
At the begining of 2016, this magnificent estate was sold for a record (unknown) price to Andy Beal. Still, the price of $48.9 million seems ridiculous compared to the original $135 million list price. It’s on the market with Allie Beth Allman who originally sold the estate to Tom Hicks, and then sold the property to Andy Beal.
