This year URWERK celebrates its 20th anniversary, and for that occassion they launched UR-T8 which debuted at SIHH 2017. This is brand’s first transformable watch. The UR-T8 is a new version of URWERK’s trademark wandering-hour indication – the most intuitive way of telling time. It is the biggest and the most elaborate carousel configuration yet applied by URWERK, with each arm supporting a satellite carousel bearing the four hour numerals.
The 60.23 mm case offers 3 ATM of water resistance, while housing Urwerk’s caliber UR 8.01, a mechanical, automatic winding movement – with 39 hours of power backup.
In addition, you can flip the case over and returns it to protect the time beneath a titanium shield.
“Our UR-T8 of course recalls the Reverso watches, we have unstructured the concept to create a genuine URWERK model.
The UR-T8 features all the characteristics that we have made our own: the huge crown, the organically shaped sapphire-crystal glass, the textured case that invites your touch, a strong personality and a recognizable visual signature,” said URWERK’s co-founder and chief designer, Martin Frei.
The Urwerk UR-T8 will be available in either a natural titanium or a black PVD-coated case, and limited to an initial run of 60 pieces, each of them priced at a mere 100,000 Swiss Francs ($99,000).
