After being quietly listed in early 2013 for a whopping $135 million and officially listed for $100 million in 2015, this palatial manor can now be yours for $48,9 million. It’s called Walnut Place, better known as the Crespi-Hicks Estate, and was previously owned by businessman and former Texas Rangers owner Tom Hicks. It sold for a record price at the beginning of 2016 to Andy Beal.
However, the 28,996-square-foot main house with 10 bedrooms and 17 bathrooms was designed by Maurice Fatio in 1939 for Italian Count Pio Crespi and his wife Florence, and was recently renovated and expanded by architect Peter Marino. It has plenty of billionaire-worthy features: endless crystal chandeliers, a library paneled with 19th-century Italian walnut, and a tilted mantel from the 1700s, to name a few. In addition to the main house there is also a two-storey guest house and a three-storey pool house. It’s on the market with Allie Beth Allman who originally sold the estate to Tom Hicks, and then sold the property to Andy Beal.
