Macallan has unveiled the latest addition to its Fine & Rare collection: Macallan 1991 Fine & Rare vintage, priced at $10,000 a bottle. The 25-year-old expression is bottled at natural cask strength of 49.4% abv was bottled by Macallan master whisky maker Bob Dalgarno from cask number 7021, an American oak Sherry puncheon from the Vasyma cooperage in Spain, which was filled with new make spirit on 28 March 1991.

The Macallan’s Fine & Rare is one of the most expensive collections of Scotch whisky in the world that is still being expanded. The range was created to showcase the Edrington-owned brand’s “finest maturing stock”.
In December last year, a selection of The Macallan Fine & Rare bottlings from 1937 to 1990 was sold to a collector for US$500,000 through Le Clos – breaking the record for the largest ever travel retail transaction.
