After last year’s sales growth of 150% and a large cash injection, British CCM announced opening of Skunkwerx division that will work on a new series of motorcycles. Their first creation is Spitfire, debuted at the fair in London, and it is about a motorcycle that delivers a completely new engine and a unique frame. From CCM says that Spitfire is the joint work of small group of mechanics and designers, who in their free time developing their own vision of two-wheeler without any fanfare, but without limitation in the budget and bureaucracy.

Spitfire has a brand new single cylinder power unit volume of 600 cubic meters, which delivers 56 hp and 58 Nm of torque. Looking at the data, it seems that this is the unit that was to be found in the SWM RS650R motorcycle, never realized machine from the time when BMW owned Husqvarna.

Visually the most attractive part of the motorcycle is its frame, which is made from T45 steel, the same type that is made fuselage of Spitfire Supermarine aircraft. To create a complex trellis frame was in charge experienced Ted Unwin, a man whose experience dates back to the early seventies. The result of his work is fine trellis frame weighs only 121 kilograms.
